Whether you are a major corporation or start-up – this one day seminar is guaranteed to provoke strategic thinking throughout your organization.

Many, if not most companies, no matter how successful or established, run out of balance. That lack of balance is either never addressed or only dealt with when the outcome is unbearable. The net cost to the organization is lost opportunity for maximizing success and in some cases the demise of the business altogether. If you attend our seminar and spend the day actively engaged, we guarantee that you will identify multiple areas of opportunity within your organization for improvement.

In our day-long Baking & Business Seminar, you and your team will explore a recipe for maximizing your business success. The day is broken into five sections; two dealing with ingredients and three with execution:

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Strategic Fit – The first ingredient must be a valid and defendable reason to be in business. Why does the market need your business – i.e. your product or service? Can you accurately define the reason(s) why your business will be or is successful? What problem do you solve? How big is the problem? Who wants it solved? How many have the problem? What will they pay to solve it? Who else solves it and can you differentiate from them? Can you make money solving it? Etc. Learn how to clearly define your business' Strategic Fit in the market and why this process is the foundational component of success.
  2. Business Plan – The second ingredient is a quality business plan that you and your team will actually use to guide your success. You’ve heard it – failing to plan is planning to fail, and the real key to creating a good business plan lies in its ability to comprehensively layout an achievable business strategy and secure the buy in of the team needed to execute it. Learn the core components of a quality business plan; from mission and culture to strategies and tactics. Build a plan that works for you and your team – not one that holds a spot on your shelf.

EXECUTION:

  1. Team & Talent – Quality execution can only come from properly talented and balanced team members. The right talent in the right spots at the right time is critical to business success, and yet many key positions are filled in just the opposite way. Learn what a balanced high-performance work team looks like and explore ways to recruit and lead them. In this section you will use a tool that will allow you to score your current team and identify gaps and opportunities.
  2. Leadership – It is nearly impossible to execute well without proper leadership. The culture and core ability of your business to succeed comes from the top. The difference in performance between businesses led by true leaders and those run by "others" is significant. Learn what distinguishes real leaders from administrative managers and bureaucrats and take away key characteristics you can apply daily to improve your leadership capabilities.
  3. Resources – And finally, without the proper resources, great talent and leadership cannot execute to their potential. From having the proper IT system to providing the right working environment to securing the proper capitalization for your business, having the right resources at the right time is essential for success. Learn what resources to consider and discuss when and where they are applicable.

A 60 page workbook with seminar content as well as note sections will help guide you through a thought provoking presentation by experienced presenter Curtis Nelson. You will hear real-world "did-it-right" as well as "did-it-wrong" stories and spend time in group case study activities to expand the learning experience.

At the end of each section presented, you will have the ability to score your business or business opportunity against the curriculum, ultimately ending the day with a report card outlining the opportunities for improvement.
